NoFX is back with a new record, and a guaranteed spot on the Warped Tour. Too bad we’re not in an election year, because “Wolves” struggles to reach the intensity of “War on Errorism.” The songs aren’t bad, but the best tracks on here also appeared on the band’s near-perfect e.p. “Never Trust a Hippie.”

Sure there’s plenty of rocking tracks on here that show off why NoFX have ruled the punk scene for 20 odd years, but for every “USA-holes,” there’s a mildly entertaining “60%.” “Seeing Double at the Triple Rock” is the best NoFX song ever, if not one of the best punk rawk tunes put to tape, but it’s been available for months on “Hippie.” Too many songs start out boring and ramp up to coolness, but songs this short-attention span generation might fast forward a track like “We March to the Beat of an Indifferent Drummer” way before it starts to rock.

Everything else is on “Wolves” is note for note NoFX. Will this record launch the band back to “Punk in Drublic” fame—it’s doubtful, but this record is sure to please fans that haven’t been satiated with the four plus hours of material the band has released in the past two years.
