The Demon City Wreckers announced the passing of singer Jason Blood. The band was in the studio recording when Blood fell ill, and have decided to disband due to the untimely death. Life In A Bungalo will have more coverage as this tragic story unfolds.

The band released this statement late Thursday afternoon on their Myspace site.

The Demon City Wreckers have lost the greatest friend, singer, and the heart and soul of us. We worked on getting our new album out to Psycobilly US by the end of August but in July while transfering the tracks so they can be mixed a snafu happened and all of the tracks were lost. Jason wasn’t feeling well but we went back into the studio to record one song “Arson” so it could go out on a comp album that Psycobilly US is putting out. Jason battled through even though he was sick and layed down an awesome vocal track. Shortly after, Jason went into the hospital.

Demon City Wreckers have decided that we could not continue without Jason. It just would not be the same without him and nobody could take his spot. After all of our sadness and emotions calm down, we will look at doing another band. Demon City Wreckers will die with Jason R.I.P.

“Jason Blood, one of our brothers, has passed away,” says Vic Victor of the Koffin Kats. “I can speak for the rest of the guys when i say he was one of a kind. Though we only saw each other from time to time while on tours he was like family to us… He will be greatly missed.”

Sadly, the last post on his personal Myspace site was a quote from Winston Churchill left by a friend simply named Cain on Sept. 19 mere hours after he died, “I am ready to meet my Maker. Whether my Maker is prepared for the great ordeal of meeting me is another matter.”
