New Social Distortion Song
Social Distortion premiered a new tune at their San Diego show. The song has been getting a lot of buzz in the punk scene as purists are bitching about similarities to The Descendent’s “Get The Time.” You be the judge. In the meantime, catch Social Distortion on their US tour, which should be hitting the East Coast really soon.

This new song by SxDx is from their greatest hits cd that just came out. The guitar riff is very similar to “Get the Time.” Perhaps after 25+ years Mike Ness has run out of awesome riffs. Is it time for him to hang up his leather jacket and call it a day??? George, Social D is playing in Sayreville on July 23 & 24. Guess who has night classes and can’t go????

You know….. I heard that song….. Love it. Then I thought, “I’ve heard this before… where in the hell have I heard this before?” It drove me goddamn nuts for a good day or so after hearing it. Then yesterday I jumped up out of my seat and when it hit me from out of nowhere…. “DESCENDENTS!” I blurted out loud. Peeps at work must’ve thought I was nuts. Glad I’m not.

Dear god, you guys sound like old farts. Social Distortion kicked ass at Nokia a few years back. Just because a lick sounds familiar, doesn’t mean they ripped it off. Besides “Get The Time” is a lame Descendents tune anyway.

The guitar lick is similar to “Get the Time” but the song as a whole sounds nothing like it.
As a fan of both, no big deal…I’m digging this song!
