I wish i knew about this place while it was open. i live in south jersey, so i'm a six flags kid. some gruesome stories there, especially the beloved, Stuntman's Free-Fall, rip... but NOTHING crazy like these rides. it'd be nice if someone had the money to build an 18+ park with an abundance of rediculous rides. ah to dream! visit Daredevil Park! maybe someday

Hah. Ken All Night Rocker! I remember that guy. I had drinks with him and Scott Drake at the Reno Room in Long Beach. I was so impressed I actually tried to package a live music show for television hosted by Ken All Night Rocker and even lined up LEVI's as a sponsor but it fell through. I was going to have The Humpers as the house band. I put My Machine out on CD when I worked at Virgin Records America. Dan Koenig, who taped it, turned me on to it. Still gives me a punkgasm. OMG. I'm responsible for those 20 CD's showing up at that Mexican thrift store I guess. I left LA in 2002 and scattered my inventory of CD's up and down Melrose Ave in large quantities.

Anything you said made a lot of sense. But, consider this to be, let's say you added just a little content? What i'm saying is, I dont want to explain to you the way to run your website, but what if you included a little something to might be get peoples attention? As being a video or a picture or two to acquire people interested in what you have to talk about. I think, it'd help make your web site come to life a little bit.

I had this problem too. So I opened my guitar controller (Metallica) and looked for the strum bar censor. It was all dusty! I cleaned it up from dust, and now my guitar controller works as well as a new one!

The slides were very violent-cannonball falls was a short ride but you really got banged up inside those tubes. My best friend nearly drowned in the wave pool-what people didn't realize is that in a fresh water wave pool you lack the extra buoyancy normally provided by the salt in the ocean, so you have to work harder to keep your head above the water. And I don't recall seeing a lifeguard; her brother and I dragged her out ourselves. It was kind of a scary day. Still, we all talk about it with fondness, and pride that we survived.

What you think you see is but an illusion. The depths of music that the cruxshadows convey is soo deep that mere reporters feign at most. If you cannot feel forever then you might already be dead. But don't worry, there is hope. There is a hero arising above the silence, reminding who you of you are. There is a constitution in your soul, which will not die. The voices sounding deep inside call you to a deeper understanding, which just become a shallow echoing of lost memories.

The dynamite you have touched should have sparked at least a whisper of a flame, though all you see is nothing. The methane, propane, oil, coal, and other is but a shadow of the power that is yet untapped. Do your eyes play ticks with the shadows?

Have you come to a mountain that cannot be touched?

I rally like ignite and I've seen them live, the place was cheezy, but they rocked. I had the oportunit of seening Pennywise live for the first time with Zoli and he rocked, really kicked asses, a lot of attitude, great sound... It seemed like the band was enjoying, and the times I saw them before live in the net with jim it hasn't had that power. It's a fresh air for PW, that the last thing I enjoyed was from the ashes, it's been a long time...
PS: The track list of the concert was AWESOME, old school songs. Time of my life

I rode the cannon ball loop in the summer of 1994. I might have been their on the day @Amazed is talking about. I remember me and my friend rode it my brother chickened out. It was a crazy bumpy ride. The darkness really made it scary, and after the loop when you speed back up and shoot out on to the slick "tarp-Like" pool it's impossible to stand and get you barings.

We hung out and watched some more people ride just to see them struggle to their feet. I can confirm that a guy did get stuck and they needed to get him out throught the hatch, don't know about the injury. but we did hear that it was a lining problem and they closed it down for the day.

Best part after the instructions on how to ride it was the ride opperator saying, "You're braver then me"

Blackie:

Thank you for doing your homework and telling people the truth about not only Obama, but a hell of a lot of other things. Through
much research as a journalist, and now former journalist, I also have found your claims to be very, very accurate and true -- most of which I wish weren't true, but still are. As for your opinions
and feelings, I agree and can't say more how you are right on the
mark about how it comes down to weak character that's killing
America.

Having said all this, I just did a search on the net for you
after I was listening to W.A.S.P. "The Headless Children" while
working today. I found myself getting very lit up about your work all over again, as you are one of my heavy metal heroes of all time. Thanks for the great music ... and telling folks the truth.

Having said all this, I just did a search on the net for you
after I was listening to W.A.S.P. “The Headless Children” while
working today. I found myself getting very lit up about your work all over again, as you are one of my heavy metal heroes of all time. Thanks for the great music … and telling folks the truth.

You can find it on the obey website http://obeygiant.com/
For roughly $40-$50 I think
You can quite often find it on ebay for $30, which is amazing so keep your eyes peeled.

Looking back now... It was pretty obvious that Jim's heart wasn't in it for some time. I haven't seen Zoli perform with Pennywise yet, but have seen him several times with Ignite and he's the Biz! I think that the arrogance others (here) are detecting is more of a knowing on his part... It really does seem like a very natural (and obvious) fit. If you don't know that... You've never heard Zoli sing. I HIGHLY recommend Our Darkest Days by Ignite to anyone who needs proof. Better yet... Go to youtube IMMEDIATELY and watch Sunday Bloody Sunday... He really is The Karaoke King (who's so arrogant that they say that btw?) - I love his version more than U2's (see for yourself).

Plus Ladies: I'm not sayin' he's hot... But if the boner police are here... I demand a lawyer!!!

Anyone who has been to a hardcore show in the last 3 or 4 years in Jersey know that FSU generally means no good. I can't really blame all the guys associated with it, but there are a select few who make the shows miserable to go to. Call me crazy, but I don't go to shows to see a billion fights with a bunch of people I don't know or care about. I go to see the bands...Gee what a novel idea.

The incident at Deep while so unfortunate, was something that was honestly bound to happen. I wasn't at the show at Club Deep mentioned in the Rolling Stone article, so I don't know what exactly happened. But the fact is, someone who was at the show died at the hands of someone in that club.

Its no wonder that touring bands in the scene routinely skip coming to New Jersey now, because of all the bullshit that comes with playing here. They'd rather play the Church in Philly or somewhere in NYC now. Gone are the days of shows at the Princeton Arts Council, Middlesex County College(A few shows still happen here and there), Manville Elks Lodge, The Pipeline and City Gardens. Halls won't rent out their space for shows anymore, because of the nonsense that has comes with doing a hardcore show. Kids wanting to act tough in front of their friends is more important than keeping venues open. While Jersey still has a ton of hardworking bands putting out awesome music, there are few venues to see them in. And we can only blame ourselves, we let it get to this point. Its no wonder that people become so jaded with hardcore music and the scene. It has become everything it spoke out against.

Its also been no secret that Hardcore has cycles that it goes through. I feel this might be another cycle of it going downhill. Who the hell knows what will make it really fun and good again. I'm waiting, and so are a bunch of other people. The amount of shows I go to now has dwindled to next to nothing. And i'm not really losing any sleep over it.

One Truth i'll tell you that at no time did PW know that Zoli would be the permanent singer and at first he was doing PW a favor. They talked and thought about many, many, singers to take Jim's place but after Zoli helped them out things seemed to be a natural fit and so they went with it. HB Dad, Zoli's vocal delivery is great! While he's different than Jim his cadence and tone are almost spot on. He doesn't, "dumb it down," he does Zoli but it's more of a punk PW Zoli than the Ignite-metal Zoli.

Guys, I'm a 34 year old man with a family, so I know my opinion does not mean squat. However, I just have to say, I read Jim's book last year and I could see where he was coming from. I was not overly surprised when he left the band but I was still very disappointed. "Reason To Believe" is one of the best albums I heard in years. I've been a fan since Unknown Road and seen these guys three times. I fully agree it's not right for the band to give up after losing Jim, but I wanna say, I see Pennywise as a legendary band. Much like the Descendents and ALL, I kind of feel they should have continued (with Zoli cuz he's friggin' great!) but changing the bands name (to another related Stephen King name). Leaving things open for Pennywise to continue in the future if Jim were to re-unite... also having the new band play Pennywise songs live and releasing new material. I know, I know, it sounds like I'm bashing Zoli.. I'm not, he's awesome.. I guess I'm still holding on to the thought of Pennywise with Jim again at another time. I love that band and I've listened to them for a very long time.

Those who've seen Zoli sing for Pennywise, how was his vocal delivery compared to Jim's? Zoli has an amazing voice while Jim was always very monotone in comparison and I'm just trying to figure out if Zoli "dumbed it down" or did he change up the vocal delivery to be more he does with Ignite. Can someone post some info?

I have a feeling this is going to be the best Pennywise album since Full Circle. As much as I loved Jim, Zoli is going to kick these guys asses to produce the best shit they've ever done. Can't wait!

I think you're confusing arrogance with confidence. There's no reason why he can't take the reigns and maybe step up Pennywise's game a bit. I've been a Pennywise fan since I was a kid, but after "Full Circle" every album has sounded the same. Not bad, not great, they just exist. I think this a chance for the band to start fresh while keeping the same vibe.

yeah, so obviously this has been known behind the scenes that Zoli would not only just fill in but replace Jim from the get go. no tryouts. just Zoli. It sucks that it was made to look like Zoli was just doing them a favor when he apparently actively wanted the job... Wow. I really love PW and look up to Zoli very much but I'm just not digging on the arrogance. I mean, I know that's how you rolled with Ignite but to openly say you're a better singer than Jimmy is unnecessary and unjust. All he ever did was sing with the voice he was given, in range he was allowed, he was never going for vibrato. whatever. after reading that I have a totally different perspective. It's simple don't fuck it up I guess. Oh, can't wait to see the extra-curricular activities in full effect. Fletcher will break you down.

i went to action park regularly from 1979-1986, then only a few times in the late 80's/early 90's.

i remember the skatepark. i remember when the bumper boats worked. and when the loop waterslide was built, though b y my mememry that was mid 80's, not the 90's.
i was too scared to ever try it. i remember seeing one person go down, not come out, and they pulled them our of the hatch at the bottom of the loop. i was all hell noooo.

i got injured on all of the old concrete water/tubes slides, pretty much every time i went on them.

i had heard someone died on the alpine slide, on the kayak rides, i heard of a few people drowning in the wave pool, and someone on surf hill.

anyway that place was the most crazy awesome park to have ever existed. the runoff water pool were freeezing cold. guys were drunk all the time. ( i was too young to drink except for the last time i went) they used to do a big octoberfest party.
i went skiing there in the winter as well.
oh, and they had those roller tracks for skiing in the summer. they sent you up the left on the far left ( the white lift?) so you went down a crazy steep hill without the softness of snow. it was fun, but stupid dangerous.

the go carts and those speedboats, and the tennis ball shooting tanks were the best. there was a dune buggy ride too.

man, that shit would never fly today.

getting banged up at action park was like a right of passage for jersey kids growing up in the 80's.

great memories.

I find it funny that people who are against Obama and what he stands for are the automatically labeled bush supporters. Then the Obama crowd feel obligated to bring up the mistakes in Bush's past as if still clinging to the hatred they had for Bush. Why do people who support Obama hate Bush? Do they even know why they hate Bush? I know why I thought Bush, Bush Senior, Clinton, Carter, and especially Obama are/were terrible presidents. Because they step all over the constitution and the American people.

The two party system is destroying America because each side thinks the other side is horrible. I agree with both sides. The government, (congress, president and courts) are destroying everything that made America great by "protecting us from ourselves". However, I take solace in the fact that one day many of us will be rescued as the world collapses. The end times have already been revealed to us. It's up to you whether you want to accept that truth or not.

I would also nominate Blackie for president. He has at least done his homework and researched out our current sonofabitchin' President that is Hellbent on destroying our country and our constitution. That is more than most of us has done before we go to the polls. I think that our founding fathers would be rolling in their tombs if they truly knew what was happening to our country. We wanted change from an administrative warmonger and the change we are getting is certainly not for the better. So thumbs up to you Blackie, If you are as Hellbent on protecting our constitution as Obama is on destroying it, then you have my support 100% for the presidency. At least we will have voice, a person that knows what he's talking about and has plenty of balls to stand up for not only what he believes in, but for all of us that want and need a change for the better.

My guitar (PS3) worked pretty well for about a year and then started to act up and not hit notes even though I was strumming properly. I have a couple of little ones (1 1/2 and 4 year old) that like to rock out and bang stuff around so I figured they finally killed it. I detached the neck and slammed it back in. No better. I then whacked the body a few times pretty good (as recommended here previously) and voila. It's working properly again. At least for the time being. I do agree the crux of thhe problem appears to be cheap connections.

You know what Michael, I'm going to take the bands attitude about your little rant/hatefest, that being that it doesn't matter. What you say doesn't change the fact that their past four consecutive singles have debuted high on the Billboard Charts, and whether you love them or hate them, that is something you can not ignore. I fully expect their next single to chart high as well. They aren't "eurotrash", nor do they want you to think they are. The Cruxshadows are The Cruxshadows. They don't fit your narrow-minded, conformist labels. They are something better than you will ever be with your attitude, and I pity you for your attitude. If I was in practice on either the Guitar or Violin (both of which I have played), I would have tried out for the band back when they were looking.

And really, given the sites motto, I'm glad you don't like them, because they are pissing off Rock scenesters like you.

As for George, no, they aren't Rock, they've never claimed to be. But when you look at their hellish tour schedules which include not only the US, but Europe as well, and they've played in China's Midi Festival, the first "goth" band to EVER do so, they rock far, far harder than any other band or musician out there.

Barack Obama for me is the most charismatic president to be ever elected. He also makes great decisions, for example in the ecomomic stimulus package to counter the effects of recession.

Blackie Lawless for President, 2012.....Sounds good to me. atleast Blackie knows what the hell he's talking about. He has said more and made more of a valid point than your president has. We have no president. he has been in office a year, and has done absolutely nothing for us. nothing he promised us. He has lied to our faces. Im politically incorrect, and damn proud of it.....

I've been to multiple Starland Ballroom Misfits shows, and they are always the best act there! No one comes close!

Also, the only thing I'd change about their style, is to slow it down just enough to let the songs be more recognizable and enjoyable. But it is amazing how fast they can play, and the don't need anyone else added. The trio sounds so brutal, ya gotta love it. This includes Jerry's screaming-snarling vocals!
INTENSE.

Anybody claiming that Youth Brigade were never a great band was either not around when in their heydays or was too narrow-minded to appreciate what they stood for, for the inspiration they offered and the roads they paved. Played in squats all over Europe long before there was any kind of established network and wrote some classic anthems. Saw them as a 15-year old kind while been on an exchange program at the Music Machine with TSOL in the early eighties. Life changing...

Though I've only knew WASP back in 2005 I just hope that Blackie Lawless will be welcomed with open arms by America's favorite Über-Aryans Glenn Beck and Rush Limbaugh. Not to mention America's favorite conservative trans-sexual Ann Coulter. Maybe former first lady Nancy Reagan was right about the negative effects of recreational drug use. Too bad it took 25 years for her theory to be proven. Rush and his Oxycontin and now Blackie Lawless, does drug abuse cause racism?

As one of those who only heard WASP's 1980s stuff back in 2002 and all the band's personnel supposed politics during the reign of Ronald Reagan. I just hope that Glenn Beck and Rush Limbaugh and the rest of America's Über-Aryans would welcome Blackie Lawless with open arms. Blackie does look "Aryan enough" to me. Even I'm "white enough" to slip though these Aryan Nation meetings and other NAZI punk / Oi! scene concerts. As long as I don't tell them my Uzbek / Uyghur roots.

Sir Mix a Lot is dead. He was killed in an accident in London (July 18, 2008). Of course people are saying he is yet alive but thats not true. His wife was in a coma for almost a year after the accident. She came out in May and is now incarcerated in a Seattle jail.

It may have to do with the fact that Youth Brigade were never that great of a band. "Sink with California..." was pretty dope, but that's all.

As you say, the best thing about YB was seeing them in 'Another State'.

Somebody needs to make the end all, be all doc about MRR. That's a story.

I bought Guitar Hero Metallica TODAY and the damn guitar only does upstrokes. Warranty or not I still have to ship the damn thing off and its 3 hours old. WTF. I thought it was just bad luck but after seeing these posts, it seems the controllers are of a poor quailty

i got the guitar for the wii and after 3 days my down stum has broken, Just go with rock band i have had it for 9 months and it still works perfect. and i'm not paying £10 for a repair kit. (mostly because i can't aford it.)

shame on redoctane this must have happened during testing if there are this many complaints, and yet they still release it like nothings wrong.

They have got a repair forum up now at http://www.guitarherorepair.com/forum so you can get all the info to fix these god forsaken instruments - one good thing about owning the Guitar Hero instruments is that you get very good at DIY too!

[...] A short interview with Jay Bentley at this year’s Warped Tour, interspersed with photos of the band that I’ve shot over the years. “Last month, I got to do yet another interview with Jay Bentley, legendary bassist of punk’s elder statesmen Bad Religion. Sure, this is the third time I’ve posted Jay in the digital and physical pages of Life In A Bungalo, but would you turn down an interview with one of the most charismatic punks rockers of our time. Jay expounds on the anniversary of “Stranger Than Fiction,” the economy, and what it’s like being in a band for 30 years.” - Life in a bungalow [...]

I doubt that MCR will see this, but I'll pour my little black heart out anyway.
I love you all. Gour lyrics are so inspirational. I love the way you sing with so much passion and emotion, Gerard. I love you ALL, and yes, you are all amazingly gorgeous. You will always come first over those crappy Disney bands like the Jonas Brothers. I can't wait 'til the new album comes out. And congrats on Bandit, Gee. I hope she'll sing her heart out like her father. And if you DO read this:

I have also smashed the guitar in anger and got it working for a day or so. Bought the repair kit from www.guitarherorepair.com for a few bucks and it sorted it in a few hours (and I'm pants at DIY).
Just need a repair kit for my hands to play the fecking thing now.

I have the same problem. I bought GHWT and played it alot untill after approx. 12 days I started missing on down notes. Next day I went to the store and they gave me a new guitar. Played this guitar for 6 days! before it started giving the same problem. The stupid guitar couldn't even work for a week! At the store they don't have any more guitars so I can't trade it for a new untill they get some new. And I'm not sure I even want a new.. It will just break again. And I could not get my money back because I don't have the box the guitar was in anymore! It's a box! It's made of carton! And it's the only reason I can't get my money back....

Get my GH3 controller and give it a turn. Perfected this hard song. Went to the menu and repeatedly pressed down, and it doesnt go down. Very angry to say the least. After 4 hpurs of gameplay, and its gone.

Bought mine today from my local HMV store and strumming down there is NO CLICKING like there should be and also if i shake the guitar around it strums & loses my combo. ALSO without lifting the guitar or pressing the Star Power button, it automatically starts itself up.

Although this review was excessively derrogatory, he did have some good points. Judging from their videos they have terrible stage theatrics, and the techno really takes away from the songs. And when he mentioned them not smiling, he meant they did not see themselves as funny. He was right that the violin solo does not "rock", but I personally think that it fits (at least from what I've heard).

My guitar broke like this after one and a half weeks, same issue. Now I have to get used to my GH3 Les Paul again, which is considerably different in a few ways and has put my playing level down a notch (i have only EVER completed GH3 through the fire and flames on expert with the world tour controller).

Thanks alot RedOctane/Activision. I am quite disgusted lately with Activision and will probably pass on their "please give us money" game Smash Hits.

I'll try the "blow into the controller" thing, but honestly it won't make up for faulty hardware and will most likely be a temporary fix (and anyway, you don't need to do this to ANY OTHER GH CONTROLLER, you shouldn't have to).
