Thine Eyes Bleed
"In the Wake of Separation"
The End Records

I guess this record would commonly be lumped in the "Metalcore" category. Fuck that. This is Death Metal. Death Metal featuring the little brother of Tom Araya of Slayer I'll have you know. Thine Eyes Bleed have more of the traditional Death Metal sound than most hardcore posers. Imagine Shadows Fall with no singing parts and you have Thine Eyes Bleed.

The heart of the band lies in their amazing guitar work. Guitarist Jeff Phillips, who also plays with Kittie, is just an amazing talent. Jeff lays the thrash metal onslaught on thick and it never lets up. Thine Eyes Bleed would be comfortable on the Metal Blade record label with The Black Dahlia Murder.

Have I mentioned the drums yet? Not quite Dave Lombardo level, but the double bass and fast fills sure as hell remind me of Slayer. Blast Beats and thunderous breakdowns make this a winner. Thine Eyes deliver the brutal metal you would expect and its relentless. Lyrics deal with death, evil things, the devil, and murder. So they are A-OK in my book.

My favorite track is "Corpse You Up" which is a pretty amazing title and is ultimately very creepy as the track seems to be about wanting to die.

Awesome record. For fans of Shadows Fall, Slayer and Lamb of God. I bet this band is goddamn ridiculous live. Check out www.ThineEyesBleed.com for more info.
