Demon City Wreckers
"Inner Demons"
Hairball 8 Records

One of the more aggressive bands to spew forth from Hairball 8's arsenal of new school psychobilly bands, The Demon City Wreckers terrorize listeners with gore-tinged psycho hardcore that is not for traditional rock-a-billy fans.

Vocals sound similar to Lou Koller's from Sick Of It All, but not quite as Cookie Monster-ish. The bass is front and center with a nice thump to complement the band's swinging beat. Keep in mind, this is heavy psychobilly, but not metal-billy. The words are clearly understandable, and the band does not play at breakneck speeds.

"Zombie Girl" is hands down the best tune on the record. Starting off nice and smooth, the song kicks into overdrive with sea shanty storytelling and a chorus to literally die over. There's even something that might constitute a guitar solo masquerading as a bridge.

If you are a hardcore punk trying to venture into the rock-a-billy world, "Inner Demons" should be your first stop, cause this record is just plain mean.
