Electric Frankenstein
"Burn Bright, Burn Fast"
TKO Records

The dark princes of the New York trash rock scene return with a brutal collection of garage rock anthems that are so damn hot they singe the hair off your palms.

The title track kicks the record off with a snot-nose, punk rock masterpiece featuring vocals that sound so raw they hurt. Obligatory covers include kickass renditions of Music Machine's "Talk, Talk," "Moving Targets" by Flo and Eddie, and "Candy-O" by The Cars. "Now everybody's dead again, and I'm my only friend," singer Steve Miller cries out on "Everybody's Dead Again" before the guitarist tears into one of the band's signature solos.

Speaking of solos, Electric Frankenstein win the award for the most outrageous, wank off solos ever achieved by a punk band. I'm not saying that they are bad, but the band clearly could care less what punk purist think of them.

If you haven't heard of Electric Frankenstein (or at least seen one of their posters) then you've been missing out on one of the most underrated punk rawk band. This album is a must for fans of the Supersuckers and the Hellacopters.
