Turbonegro
"Party Animal"
Burning Heart Records
(Not available in the United States)

Two albums deep into their resurrection, the apocalypse dudes return in a blaze of denim and a record chock full of outrageous shock rock.

Where there last effort "Scandinavian Leather" picked up right where the band left off (pre-break up) "Party Animals" is a whole new beast all together. Gone are the raunchy punk rock tunes of old. This is pure hard rock with the occasional ballad, wanking solos left and right, and super catchy choruses.

What hasn't disappeared is the band's knack of blurring the line of good tastes. Songs teem with sexual innuendos as if the titles like "Blow Me (Like The Wind)" and "If You See Kaye" aren't obvious enough. There's also a ton of crazy party tunes touching on all sorts of crazy behavior. The only thing that's been scaled back a bit is the band's overtly homosexual sailor image. To put it lightly—these songs go both ways.

Guitarist Euroboy is the star of the show, exuding pure rock with each chord. Every song on "Party Animal" is a searing guitar orgasm—never failing to climax. The lyrics are still hokey, but if they weren't then this just wouldn't be a Turbonegro record.
