The Escaped
"S/T"
TKO Records
Fast
and furious hardcore/punk? What the hell is that? The Escaped remind
me of the bands back in the day
that didn’t care about how
they looked, what they said. They were just going out to give the people
their money’s worth.
After
a slew of releases, this Portland band is back with six fast paced
songs that wear you out by the
time
its over. It’s
the aggressive nature of the songs that bands today don’t
know dick about. These few songs don’t have breakdowns or whiny
emo singing parts. It’s just pure hardcore. No frills and balls
to the wall Rock N’ Roll. It’s the sound of the NYHC scene,
of Sick of it All and early Madball. Honest and to the point hardcore.
These
guys aren’t reinventing the wheel, but it’s
a good thing to hear gang vocals and honest hardcore/punk music still
being made. It gives us hope that hardcore music is really turning
full circle with its sound.
