Last month, I got to do yet another interview with Jay Bentley, legendary bassist of punk’s elder statesmen Bad Religion. Sure, this is the third time I’ve posted Jay in the digital and physical pages of Life In A Bungalo, but would you turn down an interview with one of the most charismatic punks rockers of our time. Jay expounds on the anniversary of “Stranger Than Fiction,” the economy, and what it’s like being in a band for 30 years.
Life In A Bungalo got a chance to interview Gallows bandmates Laurent Barnard and Steph Carter before their set at the New Jersey stop of the Warped Tour. The band talks about tearing it up on stage, playing the Warped Tour, and their new record “Grey Britain.”
If Woodstock II was the personification of peace and happiness in the 90′s, the ultimate heaven on Earth, then The Warped Tour can only be described as pure Hell, in the greatest sense. Where as Woodstock had about half a million kids gathered together on a gigantic open field to help bring unity in the world, Warped was what felt like a million kids packed into a fenced in parking lot. standing on hot asphalt, in the shiniest part of Asbury Park, about ten hours before Hurricane Felix: was about to hit.
